Cross-Canada Program Aimed at Enhanced Life Participation, Prevention of Deterioration and Optimization of Health Care Utilization, directed locally by members from Dalhousie University. This study is being conducted at a facility that has an existing exercise program for people who have had a stroke. If you want to participate, before starting the program you will have a 1.5-hour assessment that involves simple tests of mobility and questions about your physical and mental health, mood, usual activities, and goals you would like to meet over the next 15 months. During the program we will repeat this same assessment every three months (at 3, 6, and 9 months) as well as at a 15-month follow-up visit. Persons who are eligible for the study have had a stroke less than 5 years ago, are living in the community, have completed all formal rehabilitative interventions, are not employed outside the home, and engage in less than 3 activities outside the home. Please contact 429-6631 or email CR813423@dal.ca if you have any questions or would like to be involved in this study. Capital Health & Dalhousie University are conducting a study on how to improve memory after stroke. Volunteers are needed to participate in this research. If you've had a stroke, are living in this community, and have concerns about your memory, you could take part. The study involves several testing sessions and weekly group meetings for 8 weeks. For more information, transportation details, or to participate, please call Bev Butler at 902-473-6472. < < designed, hosted and
